Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man! What has seduced thee from thy Lord Most Beneficent?- 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 noble recorders, 11 Who know what you do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 The day on which no soul will have the authority over any other soul; and on that day, the entire command belongs to Allah. 19
