The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 And the promised day, 2 and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 In fact, the disbelievers had always rejected (Our revelations). 19 But God surrounds them from all sides. 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
