The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
