The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
