Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 And cups put in place 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
