Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In a high Garden 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 So do they not see the camel how it has been created? 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
Almighty God's Truth.
