Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)

HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions lined up 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 To Us they will all return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
