In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
