The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
