The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
