The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
