The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the (steeds) that run, with panting (breath), 1 Then those striking sparks of fire, 2 rushing to assault at morn, 3 and raising clouds of dust, 4 Then rush thereby upon an assembly: 5 Most surely man is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And indeed he himself is a witness to it. 7 And is intractable in his love of worldly goods. 8 ۞ Does he not know that on the day when those in the graves are resurrected 9 And the secrets of the hearts exposed, 10 On that day will their Lord be perfectly informed concerning them. 11
