The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter 1 Who accumulated wealth and hoarded it, counting. 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 It is the fire kindled by Allah, 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 covered down upon them, 8 in endless columns! 9
