Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Praise be to Allah, Who hath created the heavens and the earth, and hath appointed darkness and light. Yet those who disbelieve ascribe rivals unto their Lord. 1 He it is Who hath created you from clay, and hath decreed a term for you. A term is fixed with Him. Yet still ye doubt! 2 And He is Allah (to be worshipped Alone) in the heavens and on the earth, He knows what you conceal and what you reveal, and He knows what you earn (good or bad). 3 Not a sign of their Lord comes to them, but they turn away from it. 4 and so they give the lie to this truth now that it has come unto them. In time, however, they will come to understand what it was that they were wont to deride. 5 Have they not regarded how We destroyed before them many a generation We established in the earth, as We never established you, and how We loosed heaven upon them in torrents, and made the rivers to flow beneath them? Then We destroyed them because of their sins, and raised up after them another generation; 6 (O Messenger!) Had We sent down to you a book incribed on parchment, and had they even touched it with their own hands, the unbelievers would still have said: 'This is nothing but plain magic.' 7 They say: "How is it no angel was sent down to him?" Had We sent an angel down the matter would have come to end, and they would have had no respite. 8 And if We had made him angel, We would certainly have made him a man, and We would certainly have made confused to them what they make confused. 9 Mocked were (many) messengers before thee; but their scoffers were hemmed in by the thing that they mocked. 10
