Said the eminent among the people of Pharaoh, "Indeed, this is a learned magician 109 Who would expel you from your land. Now what do ye advise? 110 They said, “Stop him and his brother, and send announcers to the cities to gather people.” 111 to bring thee every cunning sorcerer.' 112 The sorcerers came to Pharaoh. They said: 'Shall we be rewarded if we are the winners' 113 He said, “Yes, and you will then become close to me.” 114 So they said: "O Moses, you may cast your spell first, or we shall cast ours." 115 He said: Cast. So when they cast, they deceived the people's eyes and frightened them, and they produced a mighty enchantment. 116 And We inspired to Moses, "Throw your staff," and at once it devoured what they were falsifying. 117 ۞ So, the truth prevailed and what they were doing was annulled; 118 They were therefore defeated here and they turned back humiliated. 119 And the wizards fell down prostrate, 120 They said, 'We believe in the Lord of all Being, 121 the Sustainer of Moses and Aaron!" 122 Fir'awn said: believed ye in him ere I have given you leave? Verily this is a plot ye have plotted in the city that ye may drive forth the people thereof. So presently ye shall know. 123 I shall assuredly cut off alternately your hands and feet, then I shall crucify you all together.' 124 They said: "Verily, we are returning to our Lord. 125 Will you punish us just because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us? Our Lord! Shower us with perseverance and cause us to die as those who have submitted [to You].' 126
