Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, 63 "We have brought to thee that which is inevitably due, and assuredly we tell the truth. 64 So set out thou with thy house hold in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs, and let not one of you look back, and pass whither ye are commanded. 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 And there came the people of the city rejoicing 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They said, 'Have we not forbidden thee all beings?' 70 Lot said, "These are my daughters if you want them." 71 [But the angels spoke thus:] "As thou livest, [O Lot, they will not listen to thee:] behold, in their delirium [of lust] they are but blindly stumbling to and fro!" 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 And We turned the township upside down and rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Lo! therein verily are portents for those who read the signs. 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 So We punished them too. They are both situated by the highway, clearly visible. 79
