So, when the envoys came to the folk of Lot, 61 he said, "You are strangers [to me]." 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 and we are bringing thee the certainty [of its fulfilment]: for, behold, we are speaking the truth indeed. 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 He said, “These are my guests – do not dishonour me.” 68 Have fear of God and do not humiliate me". 69 They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house?" 70 He said: These are my daughters, if you will do (aught). 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 And We turned the township upside down and rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 The place (where this occurred) lies along a known route. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust. 78 So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
