And undoubtedly Haroon had told them before it that, “O my people – you have needlessly fallen into trial because of this; and indeed your Lord is the Most Gracious, therefore follow me and obey my command.” 90 They replied: 'We will not stop; we will cling to it until Moses returns to us.' 91 [Musa (Moses)] said: "O Harun (Aaron)! What stopped you when you saw them going astray; 92 From coming after me? Did you not disobey my command?" (And Moses pulled him by the hair). 93 Aaron said, "Son of my mother! Do not seize me by my beard nor by my head. I was afraid that you would say, 'You have caused dissension among the Children of Israel and did not pay heed to my words.'" 94 He said: What was then your object, O Samiri? 95 He said: I saw (Jibreel) what they did not see, so I took a handful (of the dust) from the footsteps of the messenger, then I threw it in the casting; thus did my soul commend to me 96 Moses said, "Begone! It shall be your lot to say throughout your life, "Do not touch me," and you will be faced with a fate from which there will be no escape. Now look at your deity to which you have become so devoted: we shall burn it up, and then scatter it into the sea. 97 Your Ilah (God) is only Allah, the One (La ilaha illa Huwa) (none has the right to be worshipped but He). He has full knowledge of all things. 98 Thus We recount unto thee some tidings of that which hath preceded; and surely We have vouchsafed unto thee from before Us an admonition. 99 If any do turn away therefrom, verily they will bear a burden on the Day of judgment; 100 they will abide in this [state,] and grievous for them will be the weight [of that burden] on the Day of Resurrection 101 On the day when the Trumpet is blown and We shall assemble the guilty on that day, blue -eyed. 102 In whispers will they consult each other: "Yet tarried not longer than ten (Days); 103 We know well what they will say when the most upright among them will say: "You did not tarry more than a day." 104
