The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 Who are active in deeds of charity; 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 Except from their wives and women slaves of old are free of blame, 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 Those are the heirs 10 that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. 11 We created the human from an essence of clay: 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Then (again), surely, you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven heavens above you and have never been neglectful to Our Creation. 17 And We sent down from the heaven water in measure, and We caused it to settle in the earth; and verily to take it away We are Able. 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
