And said the leaders of his people, who disbelieved and denied the confronting of the Hereafter – and We had given them comfort in the worldly life – that, “He is nothing but a human like you, he eats from what you eat and drinks from what you drink.” 33 If you follow a mortal like yourselves you will certainly be lost. 34 Does he give you a promise that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be raised to life again? 35 ۞ Begone, begone, with that which ye are promised! 36 There is naught but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we shall not be raised (again). 37 He is nothing but a man who has forged against Allah a lie, we will never believe him' 38 He said, "My Lord, support me because they have denied me." 39 God replied, "After a very short time they will certainly regret for their deeds." 40 So the (Awful) Cry overtook them rightfully, and We made them like as wreckage (that a torrent hurleth). A far removal for wrongdoing folk! 41 Thereafter, after them, We produced other generations; 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor yet postpone it. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not. 44 Then We sent Musa and his brother Haroun, with Our communications and a clear authority, 45 unto Pharaoh and his great ones; but these behaved with arrogance, for they were people wont to glorify [only] themselves. 46 They said, "Should we believe two men like ourselves while their people are for us in servitude?" 47 So they rejected them, calling them liars, and they too eventually became of those that were destroyed. 48 And We gave the Book to Moses so that they may be guided. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Mary) and his mother as a sign, And We gave them refuge on high ground, a place of rest, security and flowing streams. 50
