Exalted is He who put constellations in the heavens, a radiant lamp and an illuminating moon -- 61 And He it is Who hath appointed night and day in succession, for him who desireth to remember, or desireth thankfulness. 62 Devotees of Ar-Rahman are those who walk with humility on the earth, and when they are addressed by the ignorant, say: 'Peace;" 63 who pass the night prostrate to their Lord and standing; 64 And they who say: O our Lord! turn away from us the punishment of hell, surely the punishment thereof is a lasting 65 It is a terrible abode and an evil station," 66 And they who when they spend, are neither extravagant nor parsimonious, and (keep) between these the just mean. 67 And they who do not call upon another god with Allah and do not slay the soul, which Allah has forbidden except in the requirements of justice, and (who) do not commit fornication and he who does this shall find a requital of sin; 68 of sin-doubled shall be the chastisement for him on the Resurrection Day, and he shall dwell therein humbled, 69 Excepted, however, shall be they who repent and attain to faith and do righteous deeds: for it is they whose [erstwhile] bad deeds God will transform into good ones - seeing that God is indeed much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace, 70 He who repents and does good deeds has truly turned to God. 71 And those who do not give false testimony, and when they pass near some indecency, they pass by it saving their honour. 72 And those who, when they are reminded of the signs of their Lord, do not fall deaf and blind upon them. 73 And those who say: "Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the Muttaqun" (pious - see V. 2:2 and the footnote of V. 3:164)." 74 They will be rewarded for their perseverance with lofty mansions in empyrean where they will be received with greetings of peace and salutations, 75 Abiding eternally therein. Good is the settlement and residence. 76 Say: 'My Lord esteems you not at all were it not for your prayer, for you have cried lies, and it shall surely be fastened.' 77
