And (remember) when your Lord said to Moosa, “Go to the unjust people.” 10 The people of Firon: Will they not guard (against evil)? 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 And my breast straiteneth, and my tongue moveth not quickly: so send for Harun. 13 They have charged me [with a crime] for which I am afraid they will kill me." 14 He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 That you should send the children of Israel with us.' 17 (Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life? 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 I fled from you because I feared you. But my Lord has given me judgment and made me one of the Messengers. 21 And this is the favour with which you taunt me -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "And what is the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)?" 23 He said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between, if ye seek to be convinced. 24 (Firon) said to those around him: Do you not hear? 25 Moses said: "(He is) Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers of yore." 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 [Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason." 28 Said he: If you will take a god besides me, I will most certainly make you one of the imprisoned. 29 He said: Even though I show thee something plain? 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it looked white to the beholders. 33
