And (remember) when your Lord said to Moosa, “Go to the unjust people.” 10 The people of Firon: Will they not guard (against evil)? 11 He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me, 12 My heart is constrained, my tongue falters, so delegate Aaron; 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me. 14 [Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening. 15 Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds, 16 ‘That you let the Descendants of Israel go with us.’” 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 "And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!" 19 Replied [Moses]: "I committed it while I was still going astray; 20 So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers. 21 "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 (Moses) said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye had but sure belief. 24 Pharaoh said to those around him: "Do you hear (what he says)?" 25 [And Moses] continued: "[He is] your Sustainer, [too,] as well as the Sustainer of your forefathers of old!" 26 Pharaoh said to the audience: "This Messenger of yours who has been sent to you is simply mad." 27 (Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!" 28 Pharaoh said, "If you take any deity other than myself, I will throw you into prison," 29 (Moses) said: "Even if I showed you something clear (and) convincing?" 30 He (Pharaoh) replied: 'Show us your sign, if you are of the truthful' 31 Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it looked white to the beholders. 33
