Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 when he asked his father and his people, "What is that which you worship?" 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 Or, benefit they you or hurt they you? 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 who created me. It is He who guides me; 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 And who, I hope, will condone my faults on the Day of Judgement. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 And appoint for me an honourable mention among the posterity 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 Do not betray me 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 Paradise will be brought near those who take heed for themselves and follow the straight path; 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 besides God? Will the idols help you? Can they help themselves?" 93 Then the idols and those who strayed will be hurled into the Fire headlong, one upon another, 94 and so too the hosts of Iblis, all of them. 95 They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 nor any loving friend. 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 Surely, in that there is a sign, yet most of them do not believe. 103 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
