The people of the Wood too called the messengers liars. 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask of you no reward for this. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 And weigh with a balance straight. 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 Have fear of the One who has created you and the generations that lived before you." 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 Then make fragments of the heaven fall upon us, if thou art of the truthful. 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
