And a sign unto them is the dead land. We quicken it and thereout We bring forth grain, so that thereof they eat. 33 And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein: 34 so that they may consume the fruits and whatever their hands prepare. Will they not then be grateful? 35 All glory belongs to the One Who has created pairs out of what grow from the earth, out of their soul and out of that which they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runneth to its appointed term: that is the disposition of the Mighty, the Knowing. 38 And the moon -- We have determined it by stations, till it returns like an aged palm-bough. 39 how the sun is not supposed to catch-up with the moon, nor is the night to precede the day. All of them are to float in a certain orbit; 40 And an Ayah (sign) for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship [of Nuh (Noah)]. 41 And We have created for them the like of it, what they will ride on. 42 We drown them if We will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved, 43 except through Our Mercy and as enjoyment for awhile. 44 And when it is said to them: Guard against what is before you and what is behind you, that mercy may be had on you. 45 And there comes not to them a communication of the communications of their Lord but they turn aside from it. 46 And when it is said unto them: Spend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Shall we feed those whom Allah, if He willed, would feed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true?" 48 The Truth is that they are waiting for nothing but a mighty Blast to seize them the while they are disputing (in their worldly affairs), 49 and so [sudden will be their end that] no testament will they be able to make, - nor to their own people will they return! 50
