۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 besides God, and show them the way of hell. 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 we had no authority over you; no, you were an insolent people. 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 Even so We do with the sinners; 34 For when it was said to them: 'There is no god except Allah' they were always proud 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 But then, [O my friends in paradise,] is it [really] so that we are not to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 for the like of this let the workers work.' 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
