Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 'Allah has begotten' They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do know that they shall surely be brought up; 158 Hallowed be Allah from that which they ascribe to Him. 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 we are they that give glory. 166 What, would they then say: 167 “If only we had the Reminder which had been granted to the people of yore 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
