And We have not created the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose; this is what the disbelievers assume; therefore ruin is for the disbelievers, by the fire. 27 Shall We treat those who believe and do good works as those who spread corruption in the earth; or shall We treat the pious as the wicked? 28 It is a blessed Book which We have revealed for you so that you will reflect upon its verses and so the people of understanding will take heed. 29 We gave David Solomon. He was an excellent servant who always turned to God. 30 And when one evening well-trained and running horses of noble breed were brought to him 31 he said, "I have put the love of good things above the remembrance of my Lord," until [the sun] disappeared behind its veil and the horses disappeared from sight, 32 [He said], "Return them to me," and set about striking [their] legs and necks. 33 And We did try Solomon: We placed on his throne a body (without life); but he did turn (to Us in true devotion): 34 saying, "Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom that no one after me can have the like. You are All-munificent". 35 And so We made subservient to him the wind, so that it gently sped at his behest whithersoever he willed, 36 and the Satans, every builder and diver 37 and others also, coupled in fetters: 38 (Saying): This is Our gift, so bestow thou, or withhold, without reckoning. 39 And indeed, for him is nearness to Us and a good place of return. 40
