Indeed, We created the human. We know the whisperings of his soul, and are closer to him than the jugular vein. 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). 18 and (the human being will be told), "This is what you had been trying to run away from". 19 And the trumpet is blown. This is the threatened Day. 20 And every human being will come forward with [his erstwhile] inner urges and [his] conscious mind, 21 (It will be said:) "Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil, and sharp is thy sight this Day!" 22 And his companion will say: 'This is that which I have present' 23 (It will be said): 'Indeed, cast into Gehenna (Hell) every deviating unbeliever, 24 hinderer of good, transgressor, causing others to doubt, 25 who set up with God another god; therefore, you twain, cast him into the terrible chastisement.' 26 ۞ His companion (Satan devil)] will say: "Our Lord! I did not push him to transgress, (in disbelief, oppression, and evil deeds) but he was himself in error far astray." 27 He will say: "Dispute not with each other in My Presence: I had already in advance sent you Warning. 28 The judgment passed by Me shall not be altered; but never do I do the least wrong unto My creatures!" 29
