Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
