So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
