Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the snorting runners (the horses), 1 striking sparks of fire with their hooves, 2 And by oath of those who raid at dawn. 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 And cleaving their way therein into the host, 5 VERILY, towards his Sustainer man is most ungrateful 6 And to that fact he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 And most surely he is tenacious in the love of wealth. 8 ۞ So does he not know? When those in the graves are raised, 9 And the secrets of the breasts are made known, 10 Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds). 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
