To the People of Pharaoh, too, aforetime, came Warners (from Allah). 41 The (people) rejected all Our Signs; but We seized them with such Penalty (as comes) from One Exalted in Power, able to carry out His Will. 42 Are your Unbelievers, (O Quraish), better than they? Or have ye an immunity in the Sacred Books? 43 Do they say, "We shall be victorious because we are united?" 44 Soon will their multitude be put to flight, and they will show their backs. 45 In fact their promise is upon the Last Day – and the Last Day is very severe and very bitter! 46 for, behold, those who are lost in sin [will at that time come to know that it is they who] were sunk in error and folly! 47 The Day they will be dragged through the Fire on their faces, (they will hear:) "Taste ye the touch of Hell!" 48 We have created everything in a determined measure. 49 And Our Commandment is but one, as the twinkling of an eye. 50 Thus, indeed, did We destroy people like you [in the past]: who, then, is willing to take it to heart? 51 And everything they have done is in the writings. 52 And every small and great thing is recorded. 53 Lo! the righteous will dwell among gardens and rivers, 54 in a seat of truth, in the presence of a Sovereign who determines all things. 55
