The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He has created man: 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
