The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 The Companions of the Right 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 and shade extended, 30 near to flowing water 31 And fruit, abundant [and varied], 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
