Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O you who have wrapped up in your garments! 1 Stand up in Prayer by night, all but a small part of it; 2 half the night, or a little less 3 Or a little more, and recite the Qur'an slowly and distinctly. 4 Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word. 5 Indeed, the first part of night is heavier in tread, and more upright in speech. 6 Indeed during the day you have a long schedule of occupations. 7 So remember the name of thy Lord and devote thyself with a complete devotion - 8 (He Alone is) the Lord of the east and the west, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). So take Him Alone as Wakil (Disposer of your affairs). 9 Bear patiently whatever they say, do not yield to them and keep on preaching decently to them. 10 Leave it to Me to deal with the affluent ones who give the lie (to the Truth), and bear with them for a while. 11 We have fetters (for them) and a blazing fire, 12 food which chokes (them), and a painful torment. 13 On the day when the earth and the mountains shall quake and the mountains shall become (as) heaps of sand let loose. 14 Lo! We have sent unto you a messenger as witness against you, even as We sent unto Pharaoh a messenger. 15 and Pharaoh rebelled against the apostle, whereupon We took him to task with a crushing grip. 16 If you disbelieve, how will you guard yourself against the Day that will make children gray haired, 17 And the heaven shall be split therein. His promise indeed must be fulfilled. 18 Verily, this is an admonition, therefore whosoever will, let him take a Path to His Lord! 19
