Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
