Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
