Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
