The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
