The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 then he mustered 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
