The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
