The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
