The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
