۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 BUT NAY! I call to witness the sunset's [fleeting] afterglow, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
