The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 And by oath of the Promised Day. 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 by a burning fire 5 When they sat by it, 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
