The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
