The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
