The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
